Every woodworking company, large, medium or small, can be energy independent or can also be a source of thermal energy in the form of briquettes or wood waste to other economically and environmentally minded people. You can process: sawdust, wood shavings, sander dust, softwood, hardwood, plywood, chipboard, MDF, paper or biomass material.
PH Briquette machine
Production costs only 40p or less per hour! The smart way to turn wooden or biomass waste to financially and economically valuable fuel. A specially designed and manufactured briquette machine, which is suited equally to small and medium sized workshops as well as for private use. It is a pioneering machine, defying all myths about the complexity and the unaffordable price of briquette machines. The hydraulic system ensures smooth performance and reliability as well as minimum maintenance and service. That is why its lifespan is far longer than other technologies. The power supply is 230V, single-phase, which is a big advantage for private users and it's actually the only briquette machine on the market that runs on single-phase. Its production capacity can cover heating and hot water for up to six households each year.
A-TYPE Briquetting Machines
A-type briquette presses are powerful, fully automated machine systems. The computer of the control unit, in cooperation with the press mechanism, provides a constant quality of the briquettes and automated operation. All presses are fitted with a level sensor to monitor the level of the waste material in the feeding hopper of the briquette press. The output is up to 120kg per hour.
Universal Furnace – PH HEAT
Ideal for large workshops, warehouses or even greenhouses. The maximum coverage is 400m3. It can be used with briquettes, wooden logs, offcuts, coal, coconut shells, bark, branches, manure, vegetable oil or used kitchen oil.
Designed for grinding wood shavings and sawdust for briquette production, the coarseness of shredded material is determined by a sieve through which the material is blown into the prepared bag or container.
Wooden briquettes are an ecological, 100% renewable biomass fuel. They are made from compressed sawdust and wood shavings or other biomass waste so there are no additives or binders used during the production process. It is the temperature and the pressure applied to the lignin within the wooden material during production that makes a natural binder.
1.4 million tons of wooden waste are put to landfill every year in the UK. This costs the taxpayers £112 million every year, while at least some of this waste can be used as a secondary source for heating or hot water. Producing and burning wooden briquettes helps reduce this huge financial and environmental cost.
The carbon dioxide emitted when wood is burnt is the same amount that was absorbed over the months and years that the plant was growing. The process is sustainable as long as new plants continue to grow in place of those used for fuel. There are some carbon emissions caused by the cultivation, manufacture and transportation of the fuel, but as long as the fuel is sourced locally, these are much lower than the emissions from fossil fuels.
The further advantage of wooden briquettes is that on top of lots of the heat generation, they are clean to handle and store and produce an aesthetic flame with a golden glow.
Money saving tip
If you decide to change your old boiler, there is a government grant scheme contributing up to £2,000 towards a new biomass boiler.
MAE Development's wood-fuelled 'biomass' stove with a back boiler is a stove that provides not only direct heating for the room – like a conventional stove – but also hot water to run one or more radiators as well. In some instances, biomass stoves with back boilers are used to provide domestic hot water as well.
